Welcome reception on the 7th
The day before AQIS’ opening, Friday 7 September, we will hold a welcome reception at the conference venue. It will start at 5pm and will go on for a couple of hours. Everyone is welcome to join (no need to register).
Excursion on the 10th
For those of you who have signed in for it at the time of registration, there will be an organized excursion to Inuyama on Monday 10 September. The ticket to the castle (the oldest original surviving castle in Japan) is waived to all excursionists. The visit to the castle itself should take about one hour. There will be a couple of hours left for strolling around the old streets or enjoying a cup of matcha. On the occasion, lunch boxes will be provided. We will leave at 12:30 from the Toyoda Auditorium (map). Just before hopping on the buses to Inuyama (a 60 min drive), we will take the group picture on the staircase of the Auditorium.
For those who will not join the excursion, a useful guide to things to do in Nagoya can be found here. We would recommend a visit to the Tokugawa Art Museum.
Social dinner on the 10th
Coming back from Inuyama, we will go directly to the dinner place. We organized the banquet in a private hall within the complex of Kōshōji Temple. The dinner will start around 6:30pm (the exact starting time will be decided later on). Kōshōji is just two subway stops from the conference venue. Each participant will return to their accommodations independently.
