Please note that Hong Kong is a quite touristic city, and even locals like to eat out, so restaurants may be crowded at lunchtime. Making a reservation (e.g. during the morning coffee break of the conference) may help you get into your preferred options, especially if you plan to go in larger (≥ 4 people) groups. If you don’t make a reservation, it should be still fairly easy to find a spot in one of the restaurants and cafés in the nearby area, but in that case it may be better not to go in large groups.
Please note also that the canteens and cafés on the HKU campus are not valid options for lunch because they only cater to HKU students and staff.
