Each foreign visitor wishing to enter the Republic of Korea should have a valid passport and formally obtain a Korean visa before entering.
Countries under Visa Waiver Agreements with Korea

Entry into Korea for 90 days is easier to obtain a Visa. Participants requiring visas should apply well in advance to Korean consular offices or diplomatic missions in their countries prior to making final travel arrangements with a travel agent.
Visitorsfrom the following countries require a Korean visa. Please apply for it not less than 2 or 3 months prior to your intended travel date (The sooner, the better).

• A letter of invitation may be required with your visa application.
• KIAS will issue a letter of invitation ASAP.
• If you require an invitation letter, please send e-mail to aqis11@kias.re.kr.
• the following is necessary: a short curriculum vitae and a recent publication list (Either text, TeX, dvi, ps ms-word or pdf format is recommended.).
Visitors from the following countries can visit Korea temporarily without a visa.
