More photographsThe EQIS meetings are to focus on quantum information science and technology, a new interdisciplinary field bridging computer science, quantum physics, mathematics, optics- and nano-technologies. EQIS'03 will be the third conference in a series and is to concentrate on theoretical and also experimental aspects of quantum information science.
Program of EQIS'03 consists of 11 invited talks, 29 short communications and 46 posters.
Contributions for short communications and posters will be solicited in the research areas related to quantum information science, including, but not limited to: design and analysis of quantum algorithms and circuits, quantum games, quantum computational and communication complexity, quantum computing and automata models, quantum cryptography, quantum information theory, quantum entanglement, quantum fault-tolerant and decoherence-free computations, quantum continuous variables computations, quantum geometric and topological computations, non-standard models of quantum computation, quantum optics, NMR and solid state technologies, fermionic, bosonic and anyonic computation.

Each paper will be reviewed on the basis of an extended abstract describing original research (with an optional appendix containing more details to be read/consulted at the discretion of the Program Committee). The extended abstract should be prepared in no more than 8 pages for an oral presentation and no more than 4 pages for a poster. Contributions can be submitted only electronically through the submission website. Double submissions (but not presentations) to EQIS'03 and QIT-EQIS are allowed. Only electronic registrations through the registration page
are acceptable. Participants without presentation are also welcome.

Accompanying person's banquet fee is 6000 yen which can be paid by cash at the reception desk on September 3rd or 4th.
Concerning the excursion on September 7th, it is on sight application and same fee as EQIS'03 participants.
A special issue journal publication is planned as a volume of International
Journal of Quantum Information (IJQI).
