The easiest way to reach the Lee Shau Kee Lecture Centre\u00a0is from Exit C1 of HKU station of the MTR subway.<\/div>\n

If you come from the city centre by bus, you could get off at the bus stop called \u201cLady Ho Tung Hall\u201d and then cross the street to reach Exit C1 of the MTR.<\/div>\n

The most common way to reach Hong Kong from abroad is through the Hong Kong International Airport.<\/div>\n

From the airport, one can reach the centre of Hong Kong via train (Airport Express), taxi, or bus. You can\u00a0some<\/span>\u00a0some<\/span>\u00a0useful information here:\u00a0https:\/\/www.hongkongairport.com\/en\/transport\/to-from-airport\/<\/a><\/div>\n

Airport Express is a convenient solution. A train ride takes about 20 minutes and costs 115 HKD to Hong Kong Station.<\/div>\n

Taxi is also a possible option. A ride from the airport to Hong Kong station costs about 375 HKD.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Bus can work too, if your accommodation is near to a stop on one of the routes from the airport. For example, bus A10 reaches several locations on Hong Kong island and costs about 50HKD<\/div>\n

Traveling within Hong Kong \u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Hong Kong\u2019s public transportation is efficient and easy to use. A convenient way to pay for local transportation is to buy an Octopus card, which can be used for subway rides, bus and minibus rides, and even ferry rides. It can be also used for purchases in a variety of shops.<\/div>\n
Octopus cards can be purchased and topped up at MTR ticket offices, 7-Eleven shops, and other locations\u00a0https:\/\/www.octopus.com.hk\/en\/consumer\/tourist\/channels\/index.html<\/a><\/div>\n

The MTR subway networks covers most locations to touristic and academic interest. You can find here a map of the MTR\u00a0https:\/\/www.mtr.com.hk\/en\/customer\/jp\/mtrMap.html<\/a><\/div>\n
If you don\u2019t\u00a0have<\/span>\u00a0an Octopus card, you can buy a ticket at ticket offices, or use credit card.<\/div>\n

If you don\u2019t\u00a0have<\/span>\u00a0an Octopus card, you can pay by cash (note that the driver provides no change, though)<\/div>\n

Taxis are relatively inexpensive. A few taxis accept credit card or Octopus card, but\u00a0some<\/span>\u00a0only accept cash. If you want to take a taxi and\u00a0have<\/span>\u00a0not enough cash, please make sure the taxi you choose accepts credit card or Octopus card.<\/div>\n

Several small islands around Hong Kong by taking a ferry. Most ferries leave from the Central Ferry Piers, and accept Octopus card. Tickets can also be purchased at ticket offices near the ferry piers.<\/div>\n

Weather\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n

Hong Kong has a tropical weather, and is fairly hot in the summer, with an average around 30C in August 2024.<\/div>\n
Nevertheless, indoor temperatures are generally much lower due to the use of air conditioning. With this in mind, it can be a good idea to carry a light jacket or\u00a0some<\/span>\u00a0other clothing for the indoors.<\/div>\n

From the HKU campus, there is also a hiking path to the Victoria Peak, one of the popular spots in Hong Kong. The path is called “Long Fu Shan Morning Trail\u201d and takes 40 minutes to climb at moderate speed.<\/div>\n
